You had to be here! Wow! It was a shindig to end all shindigs! I am getting ahead of myself here. The day started off like any other that mom remotes from home. She is very smart and can work on her computer at home every now and then. Captain Carnitas was still in bed and so was I. As we all get going and the "Pretty One" shuts down her computer, they start getting me dressed and yes I am looking good! We all load up and head to the store to stock up on food and "other" essentials.
Now, I am going to skip all of the boring stuff. No one wants to hear about how the Knuckle Dragging Cro-Magnan started sweating and breathing heavy walking through the meat section of Sam's. We get home and there is a flurry of activity in the kitchen! I have never seen a fat man move so fast! Steaks were being marinated, potatoes wrapped, mushrooms being put in foil to go on the grill, and corn being shucked for the pot, not to mention the asparagus getting ready to be cooked! Now I know why the fat man always smells like food!People start showing up! Uncle K-Daddy and Angie come in and they fix drinks and I am scooped up and do my thing, start making them happy! Mommy and the rest of us go out to the patio, this is my first time spending time out there, I like it a lot, the wind, the sunshine and all the people smiling and laughing. At this point, Ced, Brittany and my Cousin Caroline show up, and Brittany really is nice, I like it when she holds me. She does the bounce and twist thing that puts me at ease.
At this point it is starting to get dark and no food has been started except for the taters(I am in Arkansas, what do you expect?) so the Bacon Bather gets all of that food he has prepped and starts his whirlwind cooking process. Mushrooms, asparagus, and steaks hit the grill. I must point out that all of these people have been making several trips in and out of the house getting more and more "drinks"! How can any human be that thirsty! They are getting louder and louder, laughing more and more, except for my Aunt Brittany. Now Uncle Nick and his wife Angie show up and join in. They brought a present for me, but it turned out to be for my Mommy. It was the biggest bottle of vodka I have ever seen(not that I have seen many in my 3+ months.) They start drinking beer that they brought with them and Angie grabs me and I can tell she has done this before. She bounces, pats and spins just the right way.
Now! all of this food comes off of the grill at the same time! Daddy aka Pork Chop, is the first to make a plate and come out side and starts eating, big surprise there. At that point everyone has seen his plate and got up and headed that way to fix a plate. For some reason people got real quiet. All I heard was chewing and people telling my Daddy how good it is and him saying thank you. Through all of this my Mommy is having drinks and talking and laughing and being very happy! It makes me very happy when the Princess of Pretty is giggling and happy.
Everyone gets their belly full and starts winding down by the fire Fat Boy has made. Uncle Ced and Aunt Brittany have to go home and put my cousin to bed, she knocked out a little early. Then K-Daddy and Angie have to go because they have to get up in the morning and do stuff. Uncle Nick and Aunt Angie have a few more beers and Daddy thinks he has to try and catch up with everyone that has been drinking steady all night. When everyone has gone home, Daddy puts Mommy to bed and tucks me into bed and we sleep the sleep that only tired people sleep!
